The last week just flew by. Last Friday, Tim picked me up from school. I stayed the weekend at his place. Spud cuddled. We hung out with his neice. We drank beer. Ate food. Watched Netflix. It was the relaxing weekend I needed.
We played a game called Fibbers. It's the kid version of Bullshit. Pretty fun.

We also learned how to make Italian meringue, lemon pound cake and sponge cake.

The back cake is sponge cake, the cake on the right is the lemon pound cake and the frosting in the front is Italian buttercream |
On Friday, we baked cookies: chocolate chip, peanut butter, white chocolate macadamia nut and walnut butter shortbread. We also starting piping skills. We use "goop," which is shortening and powdered sugar. It never dries or stales and it reusable forever.
I caught a ride with Lisa (a classmate. Credit to Lisa for the school photos) after class to Berkeley. We met Tim in Berkeley for a beer at Trappist Provisions and dinner at Cheeseboard. The pizza was Roasted sweet and yellow potatoes, caramelized onions, mozzarella, Gruyere, garlic olive oil, herbs.

I went back to Tim's after pizza to see Spud for the night. Stopped at In n Out on the way back to campus. CIA food is great, but sometimes a girl just wants a grilled cheese and some fries.
I cooked Tim a cheap pasta dinner, watched New Girl and shared a beer. Every day I learn something new: today I learned how to use a gas Viking stove. I couldn't figure out why my water wasn't boiling and what that stange smell was... gas! I eventually figured out how to turn the stove on after I awkwardly stood in the kitchen hoping someone would walk in and teach me.
Other things
I'm adjusting to dorm life. I hear my neighbors often. I know one neighbors sounds more than I know him. I got him back last week with two nights of coughing.
I met a man clumsier than me. I didn't know it was possible. I finished breakfast, but still had an entire cup of coffe. When I was walking down the aisle to the trash can, a lady pushed her chair out and stood up. I was waiting patiently, but she wasn't moving. As I was saying excuse me, the man next to her turned around and elbowed my coffee cup. Coffee barely missed my chef's coat. I bent down to clean it all up. I stand up, get myself together and he turns around and does it again! At this point, he is more flustered than I am. He apologizes many times and cleaned up the mess. I hope his day was better after that.
Taryn is coming to visit next weekend! I'm excited for a visitor. Guests are always welcome.
I hope everyone is doing well. Go niners!
You forgot to tell everybody who Lisa is.
